Are You Down With OPE? PDF Print E-mail
District
Monday, 10 December 2007

What is OPE? No, it is not a new song by Salt n' Peppa,' but rather it stands for Operation Positive Energy. Mr. Jeff Connors and the freshmen class are conducting this challenge the month of December to promote more positive energy in the lives of our teachers and students. Mr. Connors' students passed out positive wrist bands to all teachers and students to serve as reminders to stay positive and not complain. Lately, the Lake Shore community has been through some tragic events such as losing our beloved bus driver, Brenda Chiappetta, who served as a beacon of positivity in the lives of our children. By wearing these bracelets, we are not only commemorating people like Brenda, but we are also celebrating the power of positive role models. Are you up to the challenge? Well, if you are, all you have to do is for the remainder of this month, place a rubber band on your wrist. Every time you feel the need to be negative or complain, look to your wrist band to remind yourself how lucky you truly are. For more information, please call Jeff Connors at 549-2300 (2218).

December 7, 2007 - Schedule Change PDF Print E-mail
District
Wednesday, 05 December 2007
Due to extenuating circumstances out of our control, there will be an immediate adjustment made to the 2007 - 2008 District Calendar for Friday, December 7th.  Originally, Friday, December 7th was scheduled to be a regular attendance day for students in grades 9 through 12 and a half-day for Parent-Teacher Conferences for students in grades Kindergarten through 8. Friday, December 7th will now be a Superintendent's Conference Day, for planned Professional Development activities for the faculty, with no attendance for the student body.  The scheduled Kindergarten through Grade 8 Parent-Teacher Conferences will still take place in the respective buildings. Utilizing a Superintendent's Conference Day in this manner does not jeopardize the District's accountability for the required attendance days and still allows the District the flexibility for Professional Development. The Lake Shore Central School District appreciates your understanding in this unexpected schedule change.
