Attention Freshman Students & Parents:
The Lake Shore High School Academy of Business & Finance is now accepting applications for the 2010-2011 Academy Program. Interested freshman students should complete the application form and two teacher recommendations by February 12th. Students that have completed the application process will be notified of interview times after the February break. More information regarding the program is attached. On Tuesday, January 19th, the 5th Grade Planning Team presented its findings to the Board of Education in a REPORT which included advantages and disadvantages of the configuration change. Based on this information, the recommendation was made to maintain the current grade level configuration across the district and maintain the 5th grade as a part of the elementary structure. This recommendation was unanimously supported.

Under the Sex Offender Registration Act (Megan's Law), the Lake Shore Central School District has received notification from the Town of Evans Police Department that a Level 3 sex offender is residing within the school district in the 14006 zip code area. Level 3 sex offenders are those individuals who pose a high risk of committing sexual offenses again, and the person is considered a threat to public safety. As per district policy, relevant and appropriate information regarding the offender is being disseminated.
