election.jpg5th Graders Study the Election
The 5th grade students from Brant Elementary School

have been working on a unit with Mrs. Mary Desing, Graduate

Studies Student Teacher, from Canisius College. Mrs. Desing’s

unit has included topics such as political parties, platforms and

issues, campaigning, the candidates, speeches and the voting

process.
The students shown Cheyenne, Jordan, Rylee, Jenna,

and Rhine listen as Zakary presents the Democratic

platform on the environment. At the conclusion of the unit,
the students will assist the other classes in the school in

fulfilling their civic responsibility of voting. The class will

be developing a DVD that details the reason and process of
voting and building an election booth to cast their ballot.
