Hello!  It is with great pleasure that I welcome all new students, especially grade 5 students, to the Middle School.
     I am the ELA teacher on Team Mahalo, grade 6.  The curriculum that will be covered during the school year includes, grammar, listening activities, and writing, writing, writing!  Please follow the supply list and bring your supplies with you on the first day of school.  ELA supplies will be organized during the first week of school.

Mr. Schamberger-6th grade-Math & Reading
Welcome to Team Mahalo. Your mathematics class will be held in Room 104.  Please come prepared to class with your binder, pencils and of course paper for all notes and homework assignments.  Students should be coming to sixth grade knowing all basic facts of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.  Students should also have a good understanding of decimals, estimation and fractions.  Please be advised that there is eleventh period help class Monday thru Thursday for anyone that needs more guidance on a particular lesson or preparing for a test or quiz. Once again, welcome to team Mahalo and look forward to seeing you in September. 

Ms. Tuczynski-6th Grade-Science
Hi and welcome to the Middle School.  I am Ms. Tuczynski the 6th Grade Science teacher on team Mahalo.  I have been a 6th grade teacher for many years and truly enjoy teaching at the Middle School.  
In my class you will be engaged in many hands on activities as we explore our world around us as it relates to the wonderful world of Science.  Some of our 6th Grade units of study include:  plant and animal cells, the study of heredity, body systems, chemistry, the laws of motion, and heat and matter.
See you in September - I am looking forward to another fun and fascinating year with you, my new bunch of 6th Grade students.

Ms. Myers-6th Grade-Reading & AIS
I am a 6th grade Reading teacher and AIS provider for grades 6-8. I have my B.S. in Elementary Education from Buffalo State college and my M.S. in Literacy from St. Bonaventure University. Prior to teaching at Lake Shore, I was a reading specialist at South Buffalo Charter School and I also taught reading at Iroquois Middle School. I live in Lake View with my two boys Brady and Grayson.

Mr. Drezek-8th Grade-Team ?-Math
I am an 8th grade mathematics teacher on Team Tradition. I have been teaching math at Lake Shore since 2004. I also work with students who want to make the Lake Shore Middle School a better place by spreading acts of kindness and compassion in support of LiveStrong & Rachel's Challenge (Friends of Rachel Club). I love to make learning math fun and enjoy getting to share each school year with the greatest middle school students in the world. See you in 8th grade !


Ms. Gallineau-8th Grade-Team ?-English
I grew up in the Southtowns and have been an 8th grade English teacher at Lake Shore Middle School since 2004.  In the past, I have been involved in the musical,Big Brother/Big Sister, Rachel's Challenge/LiveStrong and I also chaperone the annual 8th grade Washington, DC trip.  I currently live in the city of Buffalo where I enjoy running and spending time with my dog, Alfie.

Mrs. Ford-8th Grade-Special Education

Hi!  My name is Mrs. Darlene Ford and I'm a Special Education teacher in 8th grade.  I have been teaching since 1999, but joined the Lake Shore School District in 2003.  I enjoy being a part of Big Brother Big Sister, Livestrong, and Rachael's Challenge.  I'm married and have a daughter named Julia.  We enjoy spending time together and taking our dog Reilly for family walks in our southtowns neighborhood.

 

Mrs. Schamberger-8th Grade-Team ?-Math

Mrs. Schamberger is an eighth grade mathematics teacher who teaches Pre-Algebra and Integrated-Algebra.  She was born and raised in Angola and currently resides in Derby with her husband Mr. Schamberger.  She is a Lake Shore graduate who is honored to be teaching and coaching swimming at her Alma Mater.  She enjoys exercising, singing, musicals, and spending time on the beach. 


Mrs. Smith-8th Grade-Team Challenge-Math

Mrs.Smith has been a member of the Lake Shore Middle School for five years and LOVES teaching her students fun ways to learn new mathematical concepts.  Mrs.Smith usually works with the eighth grade students, but has been providing AIS services to the sixth grade for two years.  She is also a co-advisor of the Community Service and Volunteerism (CS&V)/Leo's Club and looks forward to welcoming our newest Middle School students to join the club- her motto is "The more the merrier".

I am an adviser for the yearbook and work with many 6th grade students in the yearbook club. I teach 7th & 8th grade Health and Home & Career Skills.

Resource Room will not show up on your schedule, but if you went to Resource Room in elementary school, chances are you will have it at the Middle School. I will contact you when you get to the Middle School.

 

Mrs. Koch-Reading Teacher and Specialized Reading Program

Mrs. Parsons-General Music and 6th Grade Chorus

I will be teaching all 6th graders in General Music class.   We study music in many ways, including playing the electric keyboard.  If you participate in chorus, I'll also be your chorus teacher.   We usually have about 100 6th graders in this fun, hard-working group that emphasizes improving the voice and performance skills.  Any 6th grader is welcome to sign up for chorus.  I look forward to meeting you at the Middle School!
