This week, I will be assigning these songs to each lesson group. Instruction This week I will be grading "What's for Lunch" on pg. 7 using "SmartMusic" and the Learning Log. I encourage each student to count all the rhythms carefully while keeping a steady beat. This song combines all the rhythms we have done into one song. General Reminders Posture The most critical aspect to playing a string instrument is good posture. If students develop bad posture, it usually leads to difficulties in their learning throughout the year. In General, students should be seated with their back straight, feet on the floor and eyes on the music stand. It is important that each student have a music stand. You can purchase a variety of music stands which are reasonably priced by calling your local music vendor. Bow Grip Students must practice setting up the bow grip every day to establish the correct grip. These exercises are found on pg.5. Make sure to bow through each Open String exercise while tapping your foot for a steady quarter note beat. After this is completed daily, students should then bow, "Hot Cross Buns" and "Mary had a Little Lamb" on the Song Sheet. D String Notes Students should focus on keeping a left straight wrist while keeping their fingers on the tapes. Good posture is important,so be sure to sit straight and tap your foot steady to the beginning quarter note songs and exercises. Students should practice for no less then 20 minutes a day. Be sure to have your parents initial the practice sheet to receive a sticker on the sticker chart. Hits : 150 Site Last Updated : 2009-11-20 07:46:08 |
