Information has been received about the CONNECTIONS summer program for children with high functioning autism spectrum disorders. "Connections is an evidenced- based summer socialization program that provides children, ages 7 to 12 years old, who have high functioning autism spectrum disorders, with intensive training, experience, and practice in social functioning and making friends."

The third grade students at Highland will attend a personal safety program on Wednesday December 9th presented by Lisa Vidal of the Erie County Sheriff's Office. She will address bullying, cyberbullying and personal safety issues. The students have been learning about bullying and bullying prevention during their weekly Ready For Success counseling program.

The Healing Tender Hearts program at Circle of Daughters, Inc. is hosting a Holiday Remembrance open to all children and teens who have experienced the death a loved one or friend. The remembrance program will take place on Friday December 11th from 6:30p.m.-8:30 p.m. in the St. Francis of Assissi Church Social Center at 4263 St. Francis Drive (Camp Road) in Hamburg. For more information and to register by December 9th call Day Cummings at 627-4934. The cost is $5 per child.

On Wednesday October 28th Univera Healthcare's FUN 2B FIT Program energized the third grade students and teachers at Highland Elementary School. The students participated in a lively 45 minute workout ,led by a fitness instructor, developed especially for kids that incorporated easy, fun dance moves and stretches.
