Lake Shore Community & Chinese Delegation Make The World A Smaller Place |

The distinguished Chinese Delegation departed Lake Shore on
Thursday, October 8 in a tearful farewell gathering from LS Middle
School. This collaborative effort between the nine host
families, administrators, faculty and staff provided the 16 students
and 2 adults with a truly American experience. A deeper mutual respect,
understanding and appreciation were fostered and developed during the
seven day visit. What is very remarkable though, is the realization
that amidst our cultural and governmental differences, the similarities
are striking in that as a community, we share the common goal of
wanting the best for our students. Enjoy the highlights of the visit

LAKE SHORE WELCOMES SECOND CHINESE STUDENT DELEGATION |

On Friday, October 2, the Lake Shore Central Schools community will welcome 16 Chinese middle school students, their English teacher, and Assistant Principal from the Middle School Affiliated With Jilin University in Changchun, China. Nine Lake Shore families will be hosting these international visitors in their homes. Festivities planned for the week include a Welcome Reception, tour of Niagara Falls, participation in academic classes, and a Farewell Dinner. The Chinese Partnership is organized and facilitated by Highland Principal Dawn Mirand.

KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION for kindergarten students and parents
Wednesday, September 2 from 12:30-1:45
MEET & GREET Grades 1-5 for students & parents to drop off school supplies,
meet teachers, and visit the building before school begins.
Wednesday, September 2 from 2:00-3:00
Parent-Teacher-Group (PTG) MEETING - All parents welcome!
Wednesday, September 9 at 7:00 pm in the Highland Library
Parent Breakfast With The Principal - for parents to enjoy coffee and conversation,
connect with other parents, provide input, ask questions or just simply relax within the school community.
