The Girls' JV Lacrosse team improved their record to 2-4 after yesterday's 14-1 win over Sweet Home.  The Eagles' attack came out strong right from the start with Jaime Atkinson, Sosha Garlow, Linsey Heferle, Skylar Merk, Megan Moss, Erika Stevens, Amanda Thiel, and Sarah Voelker each scoring 1 goal.  Sam Stepowski and Alanna Yetmann each had 2, and Jessica Tunis scored 3 goals.  A strong defense was led by goalie, Ashley Burke, supported by Rachel Catalano, Emelie Obrochta, Amber Breeden and Carrie Orcutt. A great effort was given by all! The Lady Eagles play again Tuesday against Grand Island at JTW at 4:30.

On Monday, April 30th, the Girls' Varsity Lacrosse Team was defeated by Sweet Home 8-10.  The girls came back from a 3-8 deficit at half time to pull the score very close.  Goalkeeper Lindsay John made 20 saves and was protected by the defensive play of many different players during this game.  Sarah Celia, Shaela Mohawk, Jill Pelechaty, Brittany Mazzu and Emily Lemmo all worked hard defensively, though Sweet Home proved tough to handle with their speed and determination.  Our attack was led by Lauren Scanlan with 6 goals, with one each added by Cat McCulle and Emily Lemmo.  Our midfielders Miranda Schultz, Stephanie Urgo, Stacey Urgo, and Mindy Banzer all ran hard to contain Sweet Home defensively and transition to attack.  Our attackers including Shelby Will, Kelsey McKeown, Rose Russo and Allison Phelan found Sweet Home's goalkeeper hard to beat, though they were persistant.  The girls will play again Tuesday, May 1st at Grand Island.  The next home game is Wednesday, May 9th against Grand Island at J.T. Waugh at 4:30.  Go Eagles!!!

The Boys' Modified Lacrosse team evened their record to 2-2 with a 4-2 victory over Williamsville South on Monday. Joe Catalano and Damien Stevens anchored the defense while Ryan DeMartino scored his first goal of the season. Alex Govenettio and Mark Kennedy were outstanding in goal for the Eagles. The next game is at home on Wednesday against West Seneca at 4:30 PM. Come on out and support the "Mod Squad".

The Boys JV Lacrosse team won their first game of the season against the Gow School 8-5. Great team play all around led to the win. Today they will be at Grand Island hoping to improve their record with another strong win.

The Varsity Baseball team fell to 2-2 in league play with a 11-3 loss to Iroquois. The Eagles were held to one-hit through the first four innings. The never say die Eagles scored three runs in the 6th inning to close within 9-3, but gave up a pair of runs in the seventh.
Kyle Leach, Aaron Crusan, and Drew Watkins combined on the pitching effort for the Eagles. On offense Joe Inglut had a pair of hits (double), while Kyle Leach (triple) and Aaron Crusan (Double) had rbi's. Jason Radwan. Matt Boye, Kurby Driscoll, and Nick Ellington collected hits. The team plays, weather permitting at West Seneca East today.

The JV Baseball team's record dropped to 2-3 after getting pounded by Iroquois 17-4.  The Eagles were led by Joe Juskiewiez who had 2 hits and Eric Renn who had 2rbi.

The Girl's JV Softball team improved their record to 10 - 3 by defeating West Seneca East 9 - 7.  The girls lost to West Seneca East earlier in the season and knew that they would need to get the bats out early.  In the first inning the Eagles took the lead 5 - 0 with hits from Jillian Reitz, Ashleigh Mancini, and Kaileigh Hubbard.  West Seneca East came back in the bottom of the 2nd to tie the score at 5 and then took the lead in the 4th inning.  The Lady Eagles came back in the top of the 5th inning with hits from Nikki Kreuzer, Kaileigh Hubbard, Kalie Michalski, and Paige Tilert to seal the victory.  Sara Rieman pitched the first two innings and Nikki Kreuzer finished the game striking out 5 and walking none.  The Eagles next game is May 1st at 4:30 against Amherst.  Come support your Lady Eagles.
