The Boys Varsity Track team defeated West Seneca East with a score of 92 to 48 improving their record to 4-0 on the season.  Eddie Novara was a double winner in the 800 and 1600 meter runs.  Steve Paternostro took first in the High Hurdles and the 400 Hurdles, while Jon Kucewitz won the 200 and 400 meter runs.  Other great performances came form Jake Thompson in the triple jump, Nate Cox in the Discus and Alex Abramo in the Discus as well.  The entire team has been improving each week always setting new goals. 

The Girls Varsity Track Team defeated West Seneca East last night 80 to 61.  Lake Shore's Ally Klopp was a triple winner in the 400 hurdles, triple jump and the high jump to spark the victory.  The meet saw nine different lead changes as the Lady Eagles applied thier "never say die" philosophy to every event.  All seventeen events was closely contested to the second/inch.  When the smoke cleared the team improved thier record to 4 and 1, and will travel to Jamestowm on 5/1.

On Thursday, April 26th, the Girl's Modified Softball Team lost its third game of the season to Pioneer, in eight innings, with a score of 18 to 16. After going down 6 to 0 in the first inning, the eagles fought back and tied the game in the second. Going into the bottom of the sixth, the lady eagles were losing 14 to 10, but managed to tie the game with a double by Samantha Mancini. After seven innings, the scored remained 14 to 14. Defensively, the lady eagles were not able to hold off Pioneer's strong offensive game, letting Pioneer score four runs in the top of the eighth. The lady eagles played their best game of the season, with ten of the thirteen girls recording at least one hit. In fact, Sarah DeBerardinis, June Longbine, Tallie Papke, Samantha Mancini, Michelle Taylor, Mackenzie Spaulding, and Frankie Harris all hit above .500. Kimberely Kashino pitched seven of the eigth innings, pitching to 39 batters, striking out nine and only walking four. The lady eagles next home game is against Frontier on Monday, April 30th. Come out and support your home town team!

The Girls Modified Lacrosse team lost to West Seneca West yesterday with a score of 9-5.  The first half of the game was very close with a score of 4-4 at half time.  Goalkeeper Shannon Danzi made 12 saves.  Goals were scored by Laura Atkinson with 2, Angela Tunis with 1, Ashley Cournyea with 1, and Jen Chaplin with 1.  The girls are showing a lot of improvement in their defensive and offensive play.

"On Wednesday, April 25th, the Girls' Varsity Lacrosse Team suffered a tough loss to a strong Niagara-Wheatfield team.  The teams were evenly matched for the majority of the game with the scoring going back and forth.  Unfortunately, in the last four minutes of the game, Niagara-Wheatfield was able to break away from a 10-10 tie to defeat the Lady Eagles 14-10.  The girls showed a lot of improvement in their defensive play along with their settled attack.  Lindsay John played a strong game in goal making 16 saves.  Goals were scored by Shelby Will, with 3, Lauren Scanlan, with 3, Cat McCulle with 2 and Kelsey McKeown with 2.  Assists were recorded by Mindy Banzer, Cat McCulle, Emily Lemmo, Shelby Will, and Lauren Scanlan.  The girls will work to add a win to their record on Friday, April 27th when they take on West Seneca East.  The girls thank you for all of the support that they've had at their games so far this season. Go Eagles!"

After some defensive break-downs in the second half of the game, the Girls' JV Lacrosse team fell to Niagara Wheatfield 3-8.  Goals were scored by Jessica Tunis, Amanda Theil, and Alanna Yetman.  The team is looking forward to rebounding on Friday when they meet up again with West Seneca East.  Come support the team at 5:00 at JTW!

The Boys' Modified Lacrosse team fell to 1 and 2 on the season with an 8 to 5 loss against visiting Amherst. Nick McDonagh scored his first career goal for the Eagles. Patrick Gilman and Brandon Widmer were strong on face-offs and Jim Wackowski had a strong field game. The Baby Eagles next game is Friday at Eden HS at 4PM.

After a 21 day hiatus, the Girl's Modified Softball team played their second game of the season. The girls were not able to get the bats around and string together any hits, forcing them to drop a hard game to the Quakers of Orchard Park 17-1. Tallie Papke took the lost, pitching to 16 hitters in two innings, striking out zero and walking six batters. June Longbine pitched the last two innings. Longbine pitched to 20 batters, striking out one and walking three. After being walked in the bottom of the fifth and stealing second, Frankie Harris scored the eagles lone run, with the RBI being awarded to Sarah DeBerardinis. The lady eagles dropped to 0-2 on the season, but hope to get their first win against Pioneer, who they play at home on Thursday.

Early defensive mistakes cost the Eagles Varsity Softball team in a 6-2 loss to
West Seneca East.  Paige Anderson continued her hot hitting going 3 for 4
with both RBI's. 

"Congratulations to Lauren Scanlan for being the second highest goal scorer for Girls' Varsity Lacrosse in WNY with 17 goals so far this season.  Congratulations to Lindsay John for having the fourth highest save percentage as a goalkeeper for Girls' Varsity Lacrosse in WNY with 67%.  The Girls' Varsity and JV Lacrosse teams play at home today against Niagara Wheatfield beginning with Varsity at 4:30 at J.T. Waugh, followed by the J.V. game.  They're both sure to be tough games, so come support both teams and their hard work!."

The Girls Modified Lacrosse team had a great win yesterday against Eden with a score of 9-0.  Goalkeeper Shannon Danzi recorded her first shutout of the season.  Goals were scored by Angela Tunis with three, Laura Atkinson with two, Marissa Haring with two, Jen Chaplin with one and Shaniece Mohawk with one.  Great defense was played by Maria Busch, Aryien Stevens, Keira Thompson and Elizabeth Privitera.  It was a great game for the whole team.

The Girls Varsity Track Team recieved thier first loss of the season last night dropping a hard fought battle with West Seneca West 97 to 42.  First place performances were turned in by Ally Klopp in the 400 meter, Sarah Veith in the 800, Brittney Braash in the pole vault and Mikelle Cala in the 3000.  The Lady Eagles achieved personal bests in 14 of the 17 events, but it wasn't enough as the girl's record falls to 3 and 1. The squad will host West Seneca East at 4:30 on 4/27.

The Boys Varsity Track team had an excellent meet defeating West Seneca West 104 to 37.  Fred Garassi took first in the Long and Triple jump, Steve Paternostro won the hurdles and the 200 meter dash, And Jon Kucewicz took first in the 800 and 400 meter runs. Special recognition also goes to Dan Ornowski, Brian Timm, Aaron Weaver and Alex Abramo. All of the athletes performed very well improving their record to 3-0 this season.  

Boys Modified Baseball took a heart breaking loss from Hamburg yesterday with a 10-1 score. Charlie West had the only run. Bill Hastie struck out 5 of 6 hitters but it wasn't enough. Bill Hastie and Ben Senior also had hits for the team.
