 On Monday, March 17th, The O'Sullivan School of Irish Dancers will return to AJ Schmidt. Our students and staff enjoyed their program so much last year that we asked them to return again this year. The program begins at 11:15 in the gymnasium. Please join us!

On Tuesday, February 12th Glenn Colton will be at AJ to present his "Don't Bully Me" program. Our students will be empowered with 4 "easy-to-remember" tools to help them
recognize and respond to bully situations.
This show
features a
collection of upbeat original songs that promote respect, friendship,
and kindness. Thank you to all of our parents who participated in our Fall Fundraiser. Mr. Colton's visit is being paid with the profits made from that sale. Kindergarten, first and second grade students will see the program at 9:15. Students in third, fourth and fifth grade will see the program at 10:15. If you are able to attend, please join us.

HELLO!
I hope this newsletter finds you enjoying the fall foliage and its beautiful colors. November marks the start of the New York State Testing Program. Our 5th grade students will take their Social Studies Assessment on November 14th and 15th.
On November 13th we will also begin our after-school literacy program for 4th grade students in preparation for their English Language Arts Assessment in January.
Our students in kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade will travel to JT Waugh for their annual Arts in Education program. Students will be transported by bus and will return to AJ sometime after 11:00 at the conclusion of their presentation.
Our first trimester also concludes in November. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on December 6th and 7th. Information regarding conference sign-up will come directly from your child’s classroom teacher.

AJ Schmidt: Important Dates |

On Tuesday, August 14th we will hold a Summer Reading Camp from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. Students who complete their summer reading log are invited to return their log on August 14th and to do an activity with teachers and enjoy pizza with friends. Parents are asked to accompany their children to this event. Students who are unable to join us, should return their completed reading log to their teacher on the first day of school.
Our Kindergarten Visitation Day will be held on Thursday, August 30th at 10:00 AM. Our program will include a presentation, building and bus tour. Our program will conclude at 11:30 AM.
