Brant Elementary will be hosting our First Annual Science Fair. j0426563.gif

Students in grades K through 5 have take-home information on how to select a topic for a science demonstration or a science experiment.  We are hoping students will be interested in creating a scientific exhibit and participating in the Science Fair on April 25th.  More information on science fair projects will be provided to students at a school-wide assembly when we return from Mid-Winter Break.  At that time also,  Official Entry forms will be given to all students.  There is no entry fee, however projects must be adequately described on the entry form and must comply with the Do's and Dont's for acceptable projects.  Mr. Charles Ruffino is our Science Fair Chairperson with Mrs. Ciminelli assisting.  For suggested websites with various science fair project ideas please continue reading this article ....

BRANT STUDENTS LEARN COMPASSION + DILIGENCE = HOLIDAY JOY
Project from Math Game Night Results in Service to Others!

The Brant Elementary students visited senior citizens to spread the warmth of holiday cheer.   During November and December, Brant families made lap blankets and practiced holiday music to share for their holiday visit in December.  The service-learning idea was the brainstorm of Jill Utley, President of the Brant Parent-Teacher Group who with the collaboration of the Brant teachers and principal kicked off the project at Math Game Night for families.

Buffalo Bills Reading with Kirk Chambers at Brant ES PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 02 February 2009
On Tuesday, December 23, Buffalo Bills #73 Offensive Lineman Kirk Chambers visited the students at Brant Elementary School.  Mr. Chambers read a story to each class, answered questions, and handed out autographed photographs.  He also talked with the students about how important reading was in his life.  They learned that practicing reading is a lot like practicing football.  You have to do it everyday to become better and sometimes it's hard, but in the end, all the hard work will pay off.  The children were thrilled to meet the Buffalo Bill and asked many interesting questions about life on and off the field.  The students presented Mr. Chambers with a Lake Shore Eagle as a reminder of his visit to our school.ktg.jpg
