After a great deal of hard work and preparation, the Lake Shore Senior High Bands returned from their National Band Tour to New York City Sunday, April 5^th, to a police and fireman escort and hundreds of cheering community members. The Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band placed first in their respective classes and were awarded first, second, and third place overall. Sophomore flute player Melissa Thompson received the national award for best instrumental soloist at the festival, while the Wind Ensemble was awarded the Grand Champion Trophy for highest overall score out of all groups who attended the festival nationwide!
