The
Varsity Softball Team traveled an hour and a half to play Albion
Friday afternoon for their first playoff game. Albion, who was
seeded 5th in Class A, was caught off guard by the 12th
seeded Eagles. During the Eagle's first at bat they strung together
a few hits and took the lead 3 to 0. Paige Anderson and Ashleigh
Mancini both had hits to score Eagle runners. The Eagles were held
scoreless until the 5th inning when two singles from
sisters, Andrea and Jillian Reitz sparked the Eagle's offense. Paige
Anderson had another timely hit to score 3 more runs for the Eagles
and Kelsey Anthon also had a hit to Anderson. The Eagles weren't
done at the plate yet. Sara Rieman singled to start off the 6th
inning and was scored by Katherine Caboot's single. Sara Rieman
pitched a 1 hitter. She struck out 5 and walked 1. The defense
behind Rieman had no errors. The Eagles hope to beat Williamsville
East on Tuesday afternoon to continue their playoff run. Go Eagles!
