The mission of the Lake Shore Senior
High School Library is to support student
achievement, promote information literacy and expose students to a
wide variety of literature.
Opened in 2002, this library can
seat over one hundred students at one time, has a print collection of
over 11,000 books and subscribes to over sixty popular magazines.
Since 2002-2003, circulation of books has increased over five hundred
percent.
The library has over sixty personal computers
and subscribes to over thirty research databases and hundreds of
electonic books. Two instructional areas include multi-media
presentation technology. During the 2008-2009 school year, over 900
classes visited the library to conduct research and/or select books.
Students from study halls and lunch are welcome to visit the library and over 23,000 such visits occured during the 2008-2009 academic year.
The media center is staffed by librarian Mr. Robert Holden and library paraprofessional Mrs. Christine Burgin.
