On Tuesday the Boys Varsity volleyball team opened up its regular season with a strong win against Williamsville East 25-11, 25-10,25-14. Kyle Benzing lead the team with 8 kills and Erik Marx added 6 of his own.
On Thursday night the Boys volleyball team suffered a tough loss to number 2 ranked Orchard Park 25-13, 25-13, 25-20. Erik Marx had 12 kills while Nick McDonagh added 20 assists, 2 aces and 5 digs. The team plays next at the Eden tournament on Sat. with a start time of 8:00.
The Lady Eagles Volleyball defeated the Flames of Williamsville East on Thursday 25-6, 25-12, 25-10. Tara Barone, senior setter had 27 assists. Paige Tilert had 12 kills and played outstanding defense. Jillian Reitz also played great defense and produced 5 kills. First year starter, Taryn White had 6 kills. Lindsay Richardson had two blocks and 4 kills.
Last night the Lady Eagles headed to division rival, Sweet Home. The Lady Eagles started off strong and won the first game 25-17. They moved onto the second game which was very close until the Eagles went on a 5-0 run to defeat the Panthers 25-21. The Eagles started the third game down 13-1, and game back strong and won 25-21.
The Junior Varsity and Varsity team head to the Cheektowaga Tournament on Saturday September 12th.
