The Boys Modified Volleyball Team lost to Frontier Friday night 20-8,8-20,18-20,16-20 and 11-20.  The Boys played very well for thier first match of the year.  Steven McMehan and Jon Flores showed great defensive skills all night, while Steven Budniewski, Travis Wright and Christian Gravius served well.  The squad will host West Seneca West on Tuesday.

The Lady Eagles Volleyball Team were defeated by the Starpoint Lady Spartans last Monday 25-19, 25-23, 22-25, 26-24.  The Lady Eagles have yet to defeat the Starpoint since they have been placed in ECIC Division II.   The last time  Lake Shore beat them was two years ago in the Class A semi-finals.  The Lady Spartans come to Lake Shore on October 6.  
 
The Lady Eagles went on to defeat Williamsville South on Wednesday 25-13, 20-25, 25-15, 25-16 to improve their record to 3-1.  Tara Barone had 26 assists while Paige Tilert had 16.  Junior Lindsey Richardson had her best game this season with 10 kills. Sophomore, Taryn White and Senior Jillian Reitz both had 5 kills.  Nikki Kruzer and Kalie Michalski both played outstanding defense.
 
West Seneca East came to Lake Shore on Friday with the Eagles capturing another win and improving their record to 4-1.  The Lady Eagles won 25-7,  25-29,  25-20.   Nikki Kruezer led the team in serving with 7 aces.  Paige Tilert had 11 kills, while Lindsey Richardson and Jillian Reitz both had 5 kills. 
 
The Lady Eagles headed to the Sweet Home Tournament early Saturday morning to play top ranked Frontier.  The Lady Eagles lost both matches Frontier 25-25, Lake Shore 16-14.  The Lady Eagles went on to defeat Kenmore West 25-18,  25-21.  The Eagles went on to play OP and won both Lake Shore 25-25, Orchard Park 23-21.  Lake Shore went onto the gold bracket but was defeated by Clarence in the quarterfinals 30-20.  

The Girls' Tennis team traveled to West Seneca East for their first win on Friday night.  Recording wins for the Eagles were singles Amy Kushner, and doubles Rebecca and Dakota Balone, and Jackie Jones and Lauren Kilian.  The Eagles also brought in 5 more doubles wins in the exhibition matches.  Come out and support the Girls on Wednesday 9/23 as they host Williamsville South at 4:30.
 
The Boys Modified Soccer team suffered a devastating loss to Iroquois on Friday, 5-3. While the team left everything they could on the field, and even keeping the score tied late into the fourth quarter, the boys were unable to pull out the win in the end. Sam Eggleston scored twice in the contest and Wade Bergum scored on a penalty. Tom McTernan had a great first game playing well in the midfield and at the fullback position and TJ Hornberger played outstanding on offense using his speed many times to beat the Iroquois defenders down the field. Matt Szczepaniak had a phenomenal defensive performance along with Nick Lewis playing at his midfield position. the boys take on the West Seneca East Trojans on Tuesday at 4:30 @ WSE.

The Girls Modified Soccer team won their first game 4-2 against Iroquois.  The girls have been working really hard to prepare for their first game.  Carley Martin played an awesome game in goal making 12 saves.  Emily George scored three goals and Mary Katherine Crapsi score one.  Jessica Zamrock, Juliana Norton, Madeline Kromer and Kayla Parker all played strong defense.  Melanie Linsmair, Ashley Kerr and Megan Latimore played hard in the midfield.  Great game girls!
