The Girls Modified Volleyball team lost 4 out of their 5 games to tough Starpoint team in yesterdays match.  The Lady Eagles struggled to keep any momentum going, and their level of play never reached its peak.  Stepping up for the Eagles and filling in dual roles of setter, and strong side hitter was Olivia Evancho.  Molly Parker and Joelle Olczak showed alot of heart, and Alyssa Fiutko, Jessica Ackley, and Lindsay Naab provided the Eagles with some great serves.  The Eagles hope to bounce back with their home opener next Tuesday against Amherst.

On Monday, September 21st, the Girls Varsity Soccer team traveled to Eden for a non-league contest. In a battle that went back and forth, the eagles ended up with a 5-5 tie against the Raiders. Erin Parker played a quick corner kick to Jackie Fricano, who played it back with a one touch pass to Parker, who put the ball in the back of the net for the eagles first lead of the game. Seven minutes later, Eden scored to make the game 1-1. With three minutes left in the first half, the eagles took their second lead when Alex Braeuner scored with a perfect run through. Two minutes into the second half, the Raiders tied the game once again. Four minutes later, the Raiders scored again, taking the lead. A minute later, Brittany Mazzu scored off a free kick taken by Fricano, to tie the game 3-3. After another four minutes of play, the Raiders scored again, taking the lead. For the next fourteen minutes, the Eagles and the Raiders played a strong defensive game without either team scoring. Then in the 25th minute, the Raiders connected again, to go up by two. With only 15 minutes left in the game, the lady eagles were determined to score again and took many shots. Finally, with only six minutes left, Braeuner was able to put another ball in the back of the net with a gorgeous pass from Laura Atkinson. Less than a minute later, the Eagles were awarded another free kick. This time, Mazzu stepped over the ball and Fricano was able to put the ball right into the back of the net, making the score 5-5! The lady eagles play again on Tuesday at Hamburg. Go Eagles!!

On Monday, September 21st, the Girls J.V. Soccer Team took the short trip to Eden to face the Raiders.  After a close battle back and forth, the girls came up short, losing 0-1.  The Lady Eagles played a tough game against a talented and speedy Eden team but even with many opportunities, could not finish and put the ball in the net.  Frankie Harris played a great game in goal needing to make some tough saves in the first half but was extremely well protected by smart defensive play in the second half.  The defenders included Kelsey Mawk, Megan Linsmair, Kristin Bates, Liz Pickard, Alexis Cvetanovich and Angela Tunis.  The midfield group had to keep up with the speedy Eden ball carriers and worked very hard to transition the ball to the forwards to give opportunities to shoot.  The midfielders were Hayley Hammer, Summer Weinheimer, Danielle Kabel, Taylor Bates, Cassie Kij and Carly Gottorff.  Th forwards were aggressive in their attempts down the field but could not put a goal in the net.  The forwards were Erin Vogl, Taylor Fricano, Josilyn Benton, Victoria Johnson, Diana Wylie and Alexis Williams.  The girls face Hamburg on Tuesday, September 22nd at 4:30.  They are excited to get out and work hard!  Go Lady Eagles!!!
