Lake Shore's Varsity Football team battled Starpoint on Saturday, September 26th bringing back a Homecoming Victory!!! The rain did not dampen the Lake Shore spirit winning with a final score or 18-7. Stars included Tom Fritz with an interception that he returned for a touchdown. Pat Gilman had two touchdowns one on and 89 yard carry after the receiving a Starpoint kick off.  Zach Spaulding had 2 quarterback sacks, Mike Workley recovered a fumble and Tom Kolasinski was the leading tackler with 11 tackles. The team will travel to Pioneer for a Friday night under the lights contest.

The Lake Shore JV Football team lost this past Saturday to a focused Starpoint team, 30-22. The Eagles staged a late forth quarter comeback, but could not prevail in the game. Mark Kennedy ran for two touchdowns and Anthony Considine added a third score. The JV Eagles travel to Pioneer this Thursday night to take on Pioneer.



Varsity Volleyball player, Brett Farrell recorded 12 kills and Eight digs as Lake shore(4-1,4-2) swept Amherst, 25-11, 25-12, 25-17, Friday in ECIC II Boys high school volleyball.
Sean Bellomo contributed with eight kills and four digs while Chad Connors finished with five kills and nine digs in the win.  Nick McDonagh had six aces and four kills to go along with his 33 assists for the Eagles.  The team plays on Tues. at home as they play host to Iroquois for another division match up. Start time for JV is 5:00 with Varsity to follow.

The Boys JV Volleyball team improved their record to 4 wins and 2 losses with a hard fought victory over visiting Amherst.  After dropping the first game 18-25, the Eagles rallied to win the next two games by the scores of 25-17 and 25-22. 

On Saturday September 26th the Boys and Girls Cross Country teams competed at the East Aurora Invitational. The Girls competition featured 20 teams and a large field of 140 runners. The Lady Eagles finished in 11th place and were led by seniors Mikelle Cala (19:19) and Kim Vona (19:49) who finished 10th and 18th,, respectively. Junior Anne Cala (21:25) placed 66th and Sophomore Megan Dillon (22:12) grabbed the 87th spot. The final scoring position went to 8th grade runner Miriam Ridge (22:57) who placed 101st overall. The girls' team face West Seneca East on Tuesday; they will look to rebound from a tough loss to Hamburg last week.

The Boys, led by sophomores Bard Martynowicz (18:24) and Andrew Ridge (18:27) placed 17th out of the 24 teams competing, a huge improvement from last season. The boys all placed well within the field of 168 runners. Marytnowicz finished 80th and Ridge followed on his heels to grab the 83rd spot. Junior Gary Ippolito (18:34) finished in 91st place and senior Daryn Nephew (18:45) was 100th overall. Eighth grader Ian Yargeau (19:00) set a personal best time as he ran an outstanding race to place 107th overall, rounding out the team's top five scoring positions. The boys team finished one spot behind 16th place West Seneca East by a margin of five points. They will look to redeem themselves this Tuesday as they face a competitive West Seneca East squad.

The Girls Modified Soccer Team played a tough game against Williamsville East on Saturday.  Lake Shore was ahead for most of the first half but ended up losing 2-3.  Carley Martin had many shots on her in goal, making 14 saves.  Jessica Zamrock, Kayla Parker and Maddy Kromer played great defense to help keep the game close.  Emily George and Kayla Parker each scored one goal.
