Welcome to the Highland Elementary School, located on Route 5 in the hamlet of Highland in the town of Evans, New York. Approximately 400 students attend Highland from kindergarten through grade five.
Our goal is to prepare every student to be a lifelong learner who will grow to become a productive, contributing member of a diverse society. Students in grades K-5 receive a strong foundation in mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies with specialized instruction in art, music, library, and physical education.
Each month during the school year, we emphasize a character education trait. Our staff teaches the importance of good character, praises good character, and recognizes good character along with modeling examples. The monthly themes are:

The staff believes that through the development of cooperation, respect, responsibility, and independence, all students can learn and will achieve to the maximum level of their individual academic potential.
