Red Ribbon Week!
During the week of October 23-31 the country celebrated National Red
Ribbon Week. All of our schools participated in many different
activities encouraging students to commit to living drug free lives.
Here at W.T. Hoag, students kicked off the week by releasing red
balloons, symbolizing their pledge to be drug free for life. On
Tuesday, faculty and staff from both W.T. Hoag and J.T. Waugh
Elementary played in the first annual “Red Ribbon Basketball Game”
against the Evans Police team. The game ended in a tie, and there was
great participation from the schools and community. Canned food was
collected at the game for Operation Good Neighbor. On Thursday, our
3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students walked into the village of Angola to
“plant the promise,” planting red tulips on Main street. When the
tulips bloom in the spring students will be reminded of the drug-free
promise they made. Students and staff embraced the spirit of this week by
participating in fun themed clothing days all week long.

At W.T. Hoag, Students & Staff are committed to being DRUG FREE!!
