The Health Services Department, under the supervision of and direction from the registered professional nurse, provides services and facilities to promote, protect, maintain and improve the physical and emotional health of all school children thus maximizing the ability for school children to profit from educational opportunities and achieve the full protential of his/her capabilities . A student''s ability to learn is influenced by his/her health status. School age children, no matter what grade level, who are physically or psychologically challenged are unlikely to be alert, attentive and ready and willing to learn. The staff of the Health Services Department, in collaboration with other school staff and district services, are in a position to address the health - related needs of students in order for children of all grade levels to achieve the full protential of his/her educational opportunity.
