All progress reports have been mailed home.  If you do not receive your by this Wednesday, send me an e-mail and I will send it to you electronically.

An on-line version of the course curriculum guide is available through the school's website at http://www.lakeshore.wnyric.org/content/blogsection/18/395.  The curriculum guide has been totally re-vamped this year with more thorough course descriptions and flow charts to help students choose the most appropriate classes.  Check out the
class rank chart and information on pages 4-5 to learn more about how class levels can affect your child's GPA.  Yo

Guidance Counselors will now be referred to as SCHOOL COUNSELORS and their offices will be referred to as the HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELING CENTER, MIDDLE SCHOOL COUNSELING CENTER AND ELEMENTARY COUNSELING CENTER.

Sophomores -
All this week the counselors are meeting with Sophomores in their global 10 classes to discuss course requests for next year.   Your child should be bringing home a pink sheet for your signature.  This sheet is your permission for your child to be registered in the courses they select.  Please review it carefully prior to signing.   Students will be registering for their classes on-line using PowerSchools.  We are excited about the ability for students to request courses on-line this year because the process is very similar to that which they will go through when registering for college courses.  Our hope is to get students more involved in the selection process.  Please remind them that this does not mean that they have to select courses on their own and we encourage them to talk their counselors and teachers prior to selecting classes.

Juniors -
COLLEGE FAIR ALERT - Juniors will have the opportunity to attend the National Association of College Admissions College Fair on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at the Buffalo Convention Center.  Permission slips are available in the guidance office, and must be returned to Mrs. Hageman in the guidance office by 3:00pm on March 14 to be eligible.
