Our Character Education Theme for
May is Courage
The weekly quotations are:
Week 1: It takes courage to grow up and turn out to be
the person you really are.
Week
2: It
takes great courage to admit to your mistakes.
Week
3: Courage
means doing what is right even when afraid.
Week 4: A
coward turns away from danger while the courageous person chooses to face
danger and ones fears directly.
Parents
Have the April showers finally ended and will the
May flowers be in full bloom soon? In
Western New York that answer is always a mystery. I guess we will need to wait and see.
However, one item we can be certain of is that our
fourth grade students will be completing one more New York State
Assessment. They will take the science
test beginning on May 1st.
Please review the separate memorandum sent to you to help relieve any
anxiety your child may have about these examinations.
Our final book fair will be held on May 15th,
16th, and 17th.
Our PTG sponsors the fair, and as in the past we will be offering a “buy
one book get a second book free sale.”
This is an excellent opportunity to encourage summer reading at an
affordable price. The PTG will hold
their next meeting on May 15th at 7:00 pm and all are invited to
attend.
Please remember to exercise your right to vote
during the Annual District Budget Vote that will be held on May 15th at
the Lake Shore Central Middle School.
The polls open at 9:00 am and will remain open until 9:00 pm. Have a wonderful month!
