If your child does express fears or doubts don’t pass them off.  It is natural for children to have some fears about school.  Try to encourage discussion and answer all questions in a positive, reassuring way.  Let your child know that there will be friendly people to help them on those first days.  Notify the school if your child is experiencing any anxiety.  Do not isolate  them from the thing(s) they fear.
    * Encourage Independence
    * Maintain good attendance
    * Know and talk about the daily routine and weekly schedule
    * Share positive stories about your own school experience
    * Do not isolate them from the things they fear, such as the bus, day's when physical education is scheduled, and/or the cafeteria
If you have any questions or concerns please direct them to your child's school counselor.
