Let Highland Teachers and Staff serve you!
A portion of the profits will be donated to Highland
to be used towards the purchase of a new school sign!
Make sure to sign in that night as the class
with the most students attending will win a party.
The next PTG Meeting will be Thursday, November 15th at 7:00 p.m. The agenda for this meeting will include a discussion of the new school sign, possible spring fundraisers - suggestions welcome - and 50th year celebration update. Members of the 5th grade classes will be presenting a short play called Strega Nona at this meeting. We always welcome and encourage new parents to attend the meetings and look forward to seeing all of our returning parents.
Box Tops contest winners are being tallied – class winners will be announced soon! A snack party will be given to this class with Burger King certificates. The second and third place winning classes will also receive Burger King certificates. Congratulations to all the winners and keep saving those box tops!
Coming soon will be a Campbell’s label contest – start saving now!
**Principal’s Message**
Dear Parents,
In just a few short weeks the first marking period will come to a close. All parents are encouraged to participate in Parent/Teacher Conferences on December 6th and December 7th, 2007. All classroom teachers, special area teachers, and special service providers are available and interested in meeting with you to discuss the progress of your child. Conference sign up was available in September at Parent Informational Open House. Please contact the office to schedule an appointment with any faculty/staff member!
On Tuesday, November 13th we will be participating in the national “Mix It Up Day” in the cafeteria. All students will be encouraged to select a different seat in the cafeteria to meet new people and make new friends in an effort to expand social boundaries! This directly correlates with many of the programs we offer for students during the school day focusing on character education and peer group relations. This also happens to be a “parent lunch visitation” day! Parents will be encouraged as well to participate, select a different seat with your child to meet and enjoy the company of new friends!
