Welcome Back! It was wonderful to see all of the children after the holiday break.
The Character Education theme for January is TOLERANCE.
January 21 - Dr. Martin L. King Day No School
January 25- ½ Day Superintendent’s Conference Day Dismissal at 12:00pm
Please review the calendar carefully as other events are listed.
Our third, fourth, and fifth grade students have been very busy preparing for the upcoming New York State English Language Arts assessment, which will be given during the second and third week of January. Please be certain that all students in mentioned grades are in attendance. It is important that they have had a good night’s sleep and a nutritious breakfast during the testing dates. Parents have received booklets outlining the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) testing being implemented this school year at Parent/Teacher conferences. We are confident that all of the Wm. T. Hoag students will do a fine job!
Please be certain that if you have had any changes in your address, phone number, or babysitter arrangements that these details are all up to date in our office. We need to keep information current for the safety of the children.
Thank you to all the families who sponsored our “Hoag Holiday Project”. A grand total of $325 was raised, allowing us to really brighten the holidays for our sponsored children. The poinsettia tree looked fabulous in the lobby. Students found the spirit of giving to be very rewarding.

If your child has borrowed clothes from the Nurse’s Office, please wash and return them. Our closet is very low on extra clothes due to those given out not being returned. We need these items to assist children who have had an accident or spilled something on their clothes. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Happy New Year!
Mrs. Paula J. Eastman
