Girls Varsity Basketball Win Against Lackawanna |

The Lady Eagles had several key injuries and illnesses on the team in mid December which led to losses to WEst Seneca West by two, Williamsville East, and Lackawanna. The Lake Shore Girl's Basketball Team recently improved their record to 3 - 5 after defeating Eden and Lackawanna this past week. The Eagles did not let Eden score in the 2nd quarter and led at half time 14 - 8. They then outscored Eden 17 - 8 in the third quarter to seal the victory for the Eagles. Junior, Emily Ludwig, who returned to the Eagles line up recently, had 22 points, 18 rebounds, and 5 blocks against Eden. She dominated inside against Eden. Sophomore, Samantha Rosario Ritts had 6 points and 10 rebounds and senior, Lindsay John, had 6 points and 8 rebounds. Sophomore Brittany Mazzu had 4 points, 10 steals and 8 assists for the Eagles. She controlled the tempo of the game for the Eagles and was tough defensively.
On Wednesday night Lackawanna, who defeated the Eagles in early December 44 - 31, lost to the Eagles 49 - 24. THe Eagles outscored Lackawanna 16 - 4 in the 1st quarter and held them to 9 points in the first half. Emily Ludwig led all scorers with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Freshman Lauren Scanlan and sophomore Samantha Rosario Ritts gave the Eagles good minutes off the bench scoring 6 points a piece. Senior captains Lindsay John and Kelsey McKeown also had 6 points a piece as well as sophomore Brittany Mazzu.
