  • The next PTG Meeting will be Wednesday, March 19, 2008 AT 3:30 p.m. in the school library.  We have changed the time of the meeting in the hope that, it will give more parents and teachers the opportunity to attend a meeting.

**Principal’s Message**
 Dear Parents,

Dismissal is a very busy time when the staff at Highland work very hard to be sure that all students safely proceed to their end of day destination.
Your assistance is needed and appreciated to make this transition a positive experience for our students.  Here are a few simple reminders:
§         Always send in a written note, especially when there may be any changes in daily routines.
§         Unless it is an emergency, all calls to the office regarding dismissal arrangements should be placed in the morning.
§         When picking up students, arrive at 3:15, park in designated spaces only, and report to Room 111 to sign out students.

=====================================================================

Did you know that at Summer Solstice in June, there is 15 hours of daylight while at the Winter Solstice in December; there is only 9 hours of daylight! The 6 hours less daylight is quite a lot!   With so many of us in spending time indoors, e.g. driving to work in the dark, spending all day indoors, driving home in the dark, the importance of daylight becomes remarkable. This February Winter Recess, try to get out into the daylight 15-20 minutes a day with your children.  If it's too cold, go to a mall that has big skylights for a roof and take a brisk walk around the top floor! Spending time together during this week will mean so much!    “Laughter is an instant vacation.”  ~Milton Berle

Please do not hesitate to call upon me at anytime if I can assist your children in their educational experience!  It is my pleasure to work with such wonderful students!
