Our Character Education Theme for April is Diligence

The weekly quotations are:

Week 1:     If you add a little to a little and then do it again soon that little will be a lot.
Week 2:     You can do anything you set your mind to if you are willing to take action                                  and keep trying.
Week 3:     If at first you don't succeed try again.

Parents

It is difficult to believe that April has arrived and the end of the school year is rapidly approaching.   April will come and go quickly as a result of the spring recess, which runs from April 14th until April 18th.

On Friday, April 25, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, we will present our first ever Career Carnival for the whole family to enjoy at the J. T. Waugh Elementary School Gym and Auditorium.  It will feature a wide variety of games and activities geared toward various occupations to give children an idea of what is involved in all types of careers opportunities.  It should be a very informative and fun night for everyone.  Please plan on attending with your children!

Reminder To All Our Parents:  Dismissal is a time for much activity in our building.  It is so important for us to be sure that all our students are on their way to the correct destination.  That is why it is so vital to be sure students have a note and/or the office is notified early in the day.  Last minute phone calls to the office should be reserved for emergency situations only.  Your assistance in this procedure is most appreciated!

There will also be a Parent/Guardian Information Night for 2009 Kindergarten Students held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at the Middle School.  The program will run from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm.  During this event parents who have registered their children during the week of March 10-14, 2008, will have an opportunity to hear from various school personnel including the principal, the nurse, the transportation supervisor, and the school counselor.

Fourth Grade Students will be taking the NYS Science Assessment beginning on April 29, 2008. This is the final state test the 4th grade students will take this school year.
