Girls Varsity Lacrosse Open Season With a Win at Home PDF Print E-mail

On Thursday, April 3rd, the Girls' Varsity Lacrosse team began their season with a non-league game against North Tonawanda.  The girls came together to play a great game.  They defeated North Tonawanda with a score of 19-1.  Ashley Garrasi recorded the win in goal.  The attack played with composure and patience.  Goals were scored by many of the girls on the team.  Our leading scorers of the day were Lindsay John and Miranda Schultz, each with 4 goals.  Brittany Mazzu had 3, Kelsey McKeown, Destiny Sampson and Shelby Will had 2 each.  Lauren Stevens and Cat McCulle had 1 apiece.  Kelsey McKeown and Lauren Stevens each had 4 assists.  Lindsay John had 3 assists.  Brittany Mazzu had 2 assists and Shelby Will had 1.  Our defense was strong and persistant.  Defenders included Katie Bacho, Rachel Catalano, Emily Lemmo, Destiny Sampson and Amanda Thiel.  Other contributing team members were Brooke Gadomski, Rose Russo and Jessica Tunis.  The girls will begin league games next week on Monday at West Seneca East.  The next home game is Wednesday, April 9th at J.T. Waugh at 4:30 against Sweet Home.  Come cheer the girls on to victory.  Go Eagles!
