APRIL 2008                                   Character Education Theme - DILIGENCE

Dear Parent/Guardian: Please take note of the upcoming activities taking place during the month of April.   ¨ Career and College Awareness Month- Miss Boncore will be the building coordinator for this District wide initiative.  This month is designed to supplement what is already being taught at school or at home about possible future paths that our students can take.  The importance of a strong work ethic, responsibilities, and commitment will be emphasized, as they will lead to success whether students go directly into a career or an institution of higher learning.

Some activities associated with this Career and College Month include: a door decorating contest, researching a career, finding a college of interest, college day (April 9), Dress for an Interview (April 2), and Dress for Your Job (April 23).  Other activities will be taking place within individual classrooms.

The Word of the Day is noted in bold letters by the date with each word having to do with our monthly theme- Career and College Awareness.

¨ School will NOT be in session from Monday, April 14, 2008 until the return date of, Monday, April 21, 2008.  Enjoy the Spring Recess! ¨ Our next PTG meeting is scheduled for April 3, 2008 at 3:30 PM in the Art room. All are welcomed to attend.                Please be respectful and considerate when picking children up at dismissal time.  I know that we are often in a hurry but please take the extra time to park in the designated lots. There is No Parking in front of our dumpsters as well as in the loading area by the rear door.  Cars should not be doubled parked or block access of others.  Please take the extra few minutes to walk across from the parking lot as it will assist to ensure the safety of our students as well as model expected behavior – especially following posted signs.  Your cooperation is appreciated.
Sincerely,   Mrs. Paula J. EastmanPrincipal
