On Saturday, April 26th, the Girls' Varsity Lacrosse team faced Hamburg in what was sure to be their toughest game of the season so far. Hamburg defeated Lake Shore in overtime last season in the semi-final round of the play-offs. Lake Shore has been waiting for the chance to face Hamburg again and prove themselves a worthy and challenging opponent. After a tied score of 4-4 at halftime, Hamburg came on strong right away to put two quick goals in the net. Lake Shore had to come from behind to tie and finally go ahead of Hamburg. Hamburg scored one more goal to tie the game up again at 7-7. In the last two minutes of the game, with the hard work of the whole team, Lauren Scanlan was able to put the ball in the net one more time to put Lake Shore in the lead. With a strong defensive effort, Lake Shore was able to hold off Hamburg's attack and win the game with a final score of 8-7. This was Hamburg's first loss of the season. Lake Shore is now 7-0-0 overall with a 5-0-0 league record. Ashley Garrasi recorded the win in net making 13 saves on the day. Scoring was led by Lauren Scanlan with 4 goals and 1 assist. Lauren now has 34 goals this season. Lindsay John had 2 goals, 1 assist. Lindsay now has 19 goals this season. Rose Russo and Cat McCulle each had 1 goal and Kelsey McKeown had 2 assists. Other offensive contributors were Shelby Will, Linsey Heferle, Brittany Mazzu and Jessica Tunis. The defense has worked hard on improving their speed and footwork to better protect our goalie. Their hard work has been paying off in their game play. The defenders included Destiny Sampson, Katie Bacho, ,Emily Lemmo and Rachel Catalano. The girls face tough opponent, Niagara-Wheatfield on Wednesday, April 30th at 4:30 at J.T. Waugh. Please continue to support the girls and watch their exciting play! Go Lady Eagles!!!

The Girls JV Lacrosse team had their second loss of the season to Hamburg on Friday April 25th. The final score was 18-10. Hamburg is a strong team and the girls showed a great effort. Goals were score by Marissa Haring with 5, Laura Atkinson with 4 and Kalie Weinheimer with 1.
The Boy's JV Lacrosse team fended off a determined Williamsville East offense to improve their record to 6-0 in a 9-7 victory. The scoring was led by Captain Mike Abrams, Co-Captain Chad Stevens, and Ed Williams. Carl Stevens continues to impress with great goaltending and defensive leadership. Longpoles Tony Sanjuro, Adam McCulle, and Damian Stevens have jelled into an effective unit. The team next travels to Gowanda on Tuesday for a 5:00pm showdown.
The Boys Modified lacrosse team lost a hard fought battle at Orchard Park on Friday by a score 13 to 3. Dan Abrams, Mike Kukoleca, and Rory Jimerson scored for the Eagles. Mark Kennedy had a strong game in goal While Ronnie Thompson played well defensively. The Eagles are home today at 5PM against Lancaster. Come on out and support the "Mod Squad".
The Varsity Baseball team evened their ECIC Division record with a 8-4 road win at Sweet Home. Jason Radwan stuck out a season high 13 allowing 5 hits. The Eagles scored all of their runs in the second inning. Aaron Crusan had a double and a triple in the inning, Bill Petersen, Kurby Driscoll, and Nick Caboot all contributed to the win.
The Boys JV Baseball team improved their record to 3 wins and 2 losses with a 4-3 win over Sweet Home. The Eagles were led by:
Tom Fritz who earned the win by striking out 9 batters in 5 innings;
Joe Juskiewicz who earned the save by pitching 2 strong innings in relief;
Josh Gotsch and Mike Waring who each drove in 2 runs; and
Jared Freeman, Joe Juskiewicz, Josh Gotsch, Bobby Heath, Curtis Cala, Joe Pinter and Mike Waring who each chipped in a hit.
Last Thursday the Modified Baseball team won its first game of the year with a 21 -4 win over Cheektowaga. Kyle Eastman is credited with the win, pitching 3 1/2 strong innings giving up one hit.
This past Saturday the team tasted a bitter defeat at the hands of Amherst 8-6. The team played a strong game throughout. Unfortunately the team squandered a two run lead going into the 7th inning to give Amherst the lead and eventually the win. Chris Koszuta pitched a fine game going 6 1/2 innings and striking out 9. Austin Van Slycke went 2 for 2 which included a 3 run home run.
Today the team travels to Starpont to try and bring there record back to .500.
