On Friday, May 2nd, the Girls' Varsity Lacrosse Team took on league competitor West Seneca East for the second time this season.  Though it was a battle from start to finish, the girls ended up on top again, winning with a score of 12-7 and improving their record to 8-1-0.  It turned out to be a tough game for the girls after several penalties resulted in the team having to play short for the ending portion of the game.  The girls showed true character and heart after multiple yellow cards caused them to play a few players short, not only maintaining their lead on West Seneca East, but scoring 3 additional goals and not allowing East to score any.  The entire team contributed to the win with scoring coming from all over the attack.  Our leading scorer of the day was Lauren Scanlan with 4 goals and 1 assist, giving her 42 goals this season.  Lindsay John was absolutely remarkable taking control of Lake Shore's attack and maintaining possession even with several East defenders covering her.  She scored 2 goals and had 3 assists and now has 26 goals this season.  Kelsey McKeown had 2 goals, 1 assist.  Shelby Will had 2 goals.  Lauren Stevens had 2 goals, 1 assist and Emily Lemmo had an assist.  Contributing attackers also included Cat McCulle, Brittany Mazzu, Rose Russo, Jessica Tunis and Linsey Heferle.  Emily Lemmo led the defense with her outstanding play intercepting passes, picking up ground balls and using her amazing speed to out run East in transition to attack.  The defense was held together by Destiny Sampson, Katie Bacho, Rachel Catalano and Amanda Thiel.  Ashley Garrasi was strong in net making 13 saves.  Ashley maintains her position as one of the top goalies in E.C.I.C. Division II saving 61% of the shots taken on her this since the beginning of the season.  The girls have a challenging week ahead with 4 games scheduled.  They play Sweet Home away on Monday and return home Tuesday and Wedneday for games against Frontier and Grand Island.  The girls then travel to West Seneca West on Saturday to end the week.  The girls appreciate and look forward to your support.  Come out and watch them play as they continue to look toward upcoming play-offs.  Go Lady Eagles!!!

The Boy's JV Lacrosse team dropped 2 close games to Sweethome and Salamanca.  The team next looks to a three game home stand 5/5,5/7, & 5/9.  All games are at 5:00 and will be played behind the middle school.  Come help the Eagles defend the Nest!

On Friday, May 2nd, the Girls' Modified Softball team held Williamsville South to 0 runs for the first four innings. The lady eagles were ahead 1 to 0 going into the top of the fifth, where Williamsville was able to score 5 runs. The eagles were not able to fight back and ended up losing 7-2. Samantha Mancini and Kim Kashino were the only two players to cross the plate, with RBI's going to Jessica Ludwig and Anna Grazier. Tallie Papke pitched the entire game for the lady eagles. Tallie pitched to 36 batters, striking out 10 of them and walking 5. The girls play their next home game on Tuesday at 4:30. Come on out and support your eagles!

The Iroquois Chiefs snapped Varsity Baseball's three game winning streak, by pounding the Eagles 11-3. Nick Ellington singled home Jim Evancho and Kurby Driscoll in the second inning, to give Lake Shore a 2-1 lead. Defensive lapses cost the Eagles as they committed four errors. RC Hubbard pitched five solid innings allowing seven hits. The Eagles hope to play better today on the road, as they look to avenge an early season loss to West Seneca East.
