On Monday, May 19th, the Girls' Varsity Lacrosse Team played their final regular season game of the year against Iroquois, a non-league opponent.  Lake Shore recently won the Division II title, but is now looking toward sectionals to compete for the Class B title.  The girls took the game against Iroquois very seriously as they could be competitors during the sectional run.  After a few minutes of slow-paced play, the girls turned it up to defeat Iroquois by a score of 19-7.  Lake Shore dominated the offense of the game.  The girls made smart passes and created a lot of movement to open up lanes to make runs to the Iroquois goal.  Many of our goals were unassisted.  Scoring came from all over the attack.  Lauren Scanlan led the way putting in an amazing 9 goals and making 3 assists.  Lauren finishes the regular season with 77 goals and will look to continue her incredible goal-scoring as the girls move into sectionals.  Lindsay John scored 4 goals and had 3 assists.  She finishes the regular season with a fantastic 44 goals.  Kelsey McKeown score 2 goals and had 1 assist.  Kelsey finishes the regular season with 27 goals.  Cat McCulle scored 2 goals.  Shelby Will had a goal and an assist.  Lauren Stevens had a goal.  Rose Russo, Linsey Heferle and Brooke Gadomski also contributed with their hard-work on attack.  Iroquois made some strong attempts at offense but were shut down many times in transition through the midfield.  Our defense consisting of Destiny Sampson, Emily Lemmo, Brittany Mazzu, Rachel Catalano and Jessica Tunis fought hard to keep the Iroquois attack away from Ashley Garrasi in goal.  They picked up their play in the second half making many more interceptions and picking up many more ground balls.  Ashley Garrasi also stood strong in goal making 8 saves.  Following the game, the underclassmen girls acknowledged the seniors by presenting them with green and white carnations.  The seniors who will be graduating in June as part of the class of 2008 include Lindsay John, Kelsey McKeown, Cat McCulle, Emily Lemmo, Ashley Garrasi, Rose Russo, Katie Bacho and Tahlia Williams.  Many of these girls have been with the program from its beginning and have become stand-out players not only on our team but in the league.  They will be deeply missed next year and are wished all the best in their futures.  The team now looks forward to beginning sectional play on Wednesday, May 28th at J.T. Waugh at 4:30 against Grand Island for quarterfinals.  It is sure to be a tough game.  Thanks for your support during the regular season.  Go Lady Eagles!!!

Ths Boys Modified Lacrosse team dropped a 14-4 decision on Monday to the Billies of Williamsville South. The lone bright spots for the Eagles on the day were David Dombrowski and Cody Pudlewski who played solid games in the field and gave their best effort. The Eagles round out the campaign with a 5PM game on Wednesday at Frontier Middle School.
