**Principal’s Message**

Dear Parents,

On Wednesday, May 14, 2008, Highland celebrated 50 years of excellence with a school concert performed by our 4th and 5th grade students, outdoor dedications that included dedicating our new landscaping, burying the time capsule, unveiling the school sign, followed by an alumni reception and evening concert & art display.  You can view highlights of the day on our district website –
www.lakeshore.wnyric.org - click on “Document Center” on the left, scroll down to “Videos” to locate “Highland 50th Celebration”.

The Highland PTG is one of the most dedicated groups who tirelessly work for the benefit of our students.  Their support and assistance bring so many wonderful experiences to our school.  It is a great pleasure to work with such a devoted group.  I especially thank outgoing President Mrs. Karen Salansky for all that she has done for Highland, and look forward to working with the newly elected officers.  Please consider attending a meeting next year and volunteering to be an active PTG member!

I find Highland students to be among the finest anywhere!  Thank you for sharing your children with us each and every day.  Have a restful and enjoyable summer!  The faculty, staff and I look forward to reuniting with you in September!  Please call at anytime if I can assist you with your child’s educational experience.

“Our community is essential, for alone our vision is too narrow to see all that must be seen. Together, our vision widens and strength is renewed.”
