The Lake Shore Central School District has entered into an exciting educational partnership with the Middle School affiliated with Jilin University located in Changchun, Jilin Province, China.
On Monday, September 29, 2008, 27 Chinese middle school students, their English teacher and principal will travel to the Lake Shore School Community and spend six (6) days with Fourteen (14) host families.
A comprehensive schedule of activities has been created for the Chinese contingent with the focus on becoming immersed in the American culture. Some of the events that the Chinese students may experience will include participation in a typical school day at the Lake Shore Senior High School, Middle School and Highland Elementary School; a visit to Niagara Falls; a host family dinner; and attendance and/or participation at a local sporting event. The visiting students are very excited about experiencing American culture.
