Lake Shore Central School District Announces the Opening of
The Lake Shore Business and Finance Academy
Fall of 2009
This program, sponsored by the National Academy Foundation (NAF), will provide a small learning community for academy students with; career themed curriculum; mentoring by business professionals; and real-world, paid internships.
Students will:
· receive a paid internship
· earn college credit.
· earn Microsoft Certification
· explore several career opportunities
· attend industry events
· create entrepreneurial projects
· provide community service
NAF’s proven and measurable results have earned it significant support from the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, as well as other major, national funding organizations. At the conclusion of the 3 year program students will have logged a minimum of 130 paid internship hours and will earn a certificate of Business and Financial Services issued by NAF.
