Lake Shore High School will be offering a Regents exam preparation program too students who need to retake an exam in January 2013. Please click on title to review program details which starts on Tuesday, Janaury 8th, 2013.
College On Track is a new program that is being implemented with all current 9th and 10th graders. A letter is being mailed home the week of December 17th to parents of 9th and 10th graders to learn how parents can set up their accounts. This program implements a team approach to digital learning through lesson plans, flipped classrooms, digital portfolios, and more. Click on the title to access the website to setup account
All Juniors are invited to take the PSAT exam on Wednesday, October 17, 2012. Students need to register for this exam in the Main Office by Friday, October 5th at 2:00 P.M. Please no checks. The cost to take the exam is $14.00. Click on this article title to contact Ms. Boncore about this program.
Congressman Brian Higgins announces Academy Night on Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at Cheektowaga Central High School at 3600 Union Road,Cheektowaga, New York. This night will provide parents and students with the opportunity to learn more about the admissions process and day-to-day life at the academies. There will be representatives from each academy (West Point, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, Merchant Marine Academy) in attendance as well as a representative from an ROTC program. Visiting colleges is valuable in the process of learning about academic programs as well as you and your child will get a sense of what the college is all about. It is important you review the dates for the Western New York Open Houses. Please make sure you call ahead to register for the event.

School Counselor, Heather Boncore has organized anti-bullying activities at Lake Shore High School. She has collaborated with teachers and administrators to produce a program that tackles the issue of bullying. On Wednesday, October 10th is the National Day of "United Against Bullying." School Counselor, Mr. Kelley has organized a field trip for approximately 25 students to attend the Construction Career Day in Western New York on Thursday, October 4th. This event will take place at the Operating Engineers Training Facility. Students will participate in hands- on activities like bricklaying, welding, painting carpentry, operation of a backhoe,and operation of mini-excavators and skid steers. Exhibitors will display the newest technologically advanced equipment that is utilized in constructing highways and buildings. The Western New York College Consortium will visit Lake Shore High School on Thursday, September 27th. Seniors and Juniors will be invited to attend this program to gather information from colleges.
Lake Shore Central School District's Counseling Department was the first school district in Western New York to receive the New York State School Counseling Award for Outstanding Programs.
